Thumbs down Terrible scratch on door with ding

Ok, I am so mad and upset to have to be posting this right now.

I washed my car off yesterday so I know this was not there before
last night. I went out last night around town, to dinner and then to a night club/bar where I stayed until around 2 am. After I got home I usually
always walk around my car just to make sure nothing happened to it.

Well I walk around the passenger side and see a terrible scratch all the way down to the metal in some spot and a small ding. I have no idea how this happened. I didnt open the passenger door any last night, at the club I was parked near the front of the building and there were cars around me. But I just dont see how this could of happened, I mean if it was me. What could I have hit? and I see no way possible that I wouldnt have felt, heard or noticed that I had hit something. or how did someone else hit it that low? Was this intentional by someone mad? And keep in mind there is no damage anywhere else above or below what you see in the picture, and also the scratch is directly below the mirror and the mirror is intact and fine.

Either way it really makes me mad but there is nothing I can do but have it fixed. I'm guessing I need a paintless dent repair to take the ding out and then a body shop to repaint it. Any idea on how much this is going to cost me?

Ooooo.. My sincerest condolences my friend! Kinda makes you wanna vomit I bet! I had some jerk hit my front fender with their car door, breaking the M in the Camaro badge and causing a little dent just above it.. I know when I saw it the next day I thought for sure I was going to get sick to my stomach. I don't mind parking in "China" at the store to ensure this doesn't happen again... Sooo very sorry! YIKES!

Thanks guys, i'm just so confused as to how this happened.. It would make me feel better knowing I just did it myself by running up against something.. But I just wish I had an explanation. Oh well, its off to get it fixed on monday.

Does anyone know if they will be able to pull the dent out being that its on the crease of the door?

Looks like someone with a truck or "high" vehicle parked too close, opened his/her door and there you go...that's what I would have figured. If you did it somehow I think you may have heard it when it happened. Judging by how deep the gash is and the dent, it would have made a "nails down a chalkboard" sound...I don't think you did it.

That makes sense Pumpkin, but if somone did that by opening a door on it. It looks like to me the mirror would of been broken.

Well your biggest mistake is when you went to a night club/bar and stayed out until 2am. .....Nothing good can come from that.

Understandable, you may be right but i've been there several times before any never had any problems. But I mean you know, the way I feel is i'm not going to be scared to drive my car anywhere at anytime.. There is no point in owning it and being too scared to park it anywhere.

Being scared and being prudent can be two different points of view.

You are right. No one should mess with your car but in reality we live in a cruel world.

I agree, good points.. I dont know maybe it was someone being cruel or maybe it was an accident by some drunken jackass.. Either way its there and from now on I will be more careful about where I park and when.

Looks like whoever hit it was moving so that leaves out a door hit. I'm guessing an SUV pulling in or backing out is what did it. Sorry man, I would have flipped out too!

It looks like the heel of a shoe (high-heel shoe?) stomped down on it and drug it across your door. Is that paint left behind or a rubber substance?
