For Sale Cats off an L99
I had my exhaust system on my L99 replaced recently. I kept the catalytic converters. The car had 1000 miles on it at the time.
If you are interested in the catalytic converters, make me an offer. I am in the central Ohio area if you want to save the shipping cost and pick them up yourself. Here is a picture: ![]() Last edited by Darth_Emma; 05-19-2010 at 05:10 PM. |

Do you know if the L99 and LS3 cats are the same?

The shop held on to the manifolds and full exhaust for me until they knew I was happy with the new headers and exhaust. Another member had said he wanted the cats, so I brought them home. However, he has since decided he doesn't want the cats now. :(
Anyway, the guys at the shop said the cats are usually worth a little money even just to recycle the metals in them. So, I thought I'd post them here and see if anyone needs a set for their car before I sell them to be recycled. I thought about keeping all the stock parts, but the exhaust is just too big to store. I can't imagine I'd ever put it back on the car anyway. Last edited by Darth_Emma; 05-18-2010 at 06:11 PM. |

Do you have all 4 cats? Would you be willing to seperate? I really just want the smaller ones. I think the big ones might be worth a bit, but the small ones are pretty small, probably not worth as much... How much would you want for them if you'd seperate?

The cats are welded together, so I don't think I can separate them. If you are interested in them, send me a pm.
I can take a picture of them if you'd like to see what I mean. (I'm not an expert on this stuff!) |

Emma,
When we replaced the exhaust (ourselves in our garage), I had my maintenance man at my property come over with a sawz-all to cut it up. Then Hubby threw it in the back of the truck and tossed it in the dumpster at the apts. It's not worth the time or the money to go and get the pittance they are going to give you for the scrap metal. We take appliance's to the scrap metal place all the time just to get rid of them but don't bother to stick around for the hassle of the paper work and the few bucks. I hope you find someone to buy the cats and hope the shop that did the work disposed of your old exhaust system for you. ~Lani

The shop recycled the exhaust manifold and the exhaust system. They told me I should keep the cats and sell them as they are worth selling.
By the way, this is a for sale thread. If you want to make general comments about the value of exhaust systems, there is an area for such comments in the forums. I don't mean to sound snotty. I am just trying to sell my cats here. Thanks. |
