GMPP Air intake

Sorry if already posted...

Was curious if anyone ordered the air intake or "air box" from GMPP? I haven't heard much among this forum in regards to the product, but it seems to be discussed heavily among GM truck owners. I know it is silly for me to compare a truck to the camaro, but it seems the truck owners love the product.....any such luck on the camaro side?

That is what I am trying to gather..my buddy with a silverado loves it...both appearance and stated he noticed an immediate throttle response. That is why we are looking for answers with the camaro.

Personally I don't know what warranty limitations you may have with aftermarket, but if those issues can be squashed with the GM product (which I have seen on some GMpartsdirect websites for 299) then why not?

Just inquiring is all....

just to let you know, CAI DO NOT void warranty....i had major transmission work that i need my warranty to cover the damage.... my car had a K&N CAI and a exhaust.... it was there for a week.... they try to void my warranty for doing to many burnouts ... but didnt say one thing about the aftermarket parts ... in the end they couldnt prove anything

warranty still intact

Last i checked with GM, and i know this isn't of any help, but the airbox wasn't available yet although it is in the GMPP catalog.

I thought that was the case as well, but knew it was in circulation among other GM vechiles. Just seems silly this vehicle has been out a year now and it is still not available.

I heard it should be available by October.

I will still check the vendors once a month to see if they heard anything.

Helps me think that buying a K&N air filter for the stock airbox might be something I should do a lot sooner now.

I am curious to see where GMPP will place the intake. I have seen some that ride along the front side of the wheel well....I am not much for that in rainy Florida. I like the box setup on the driver side under the hood.

Its good that you you had no warranty issues with your CAI, but you cannot make a blanket statement that a CAI won't affect the warranty... What one service manager overlooks, another may not. I still maintain that anyone going in for warranty work should reinstall the OEM intake to be on the safe side...
