2010 or 2011 / 2LT or 2SS

I am excited to purchase a new Camaro as my lease is up on my H3 in July. Having driven a 1978 Camaro through high school I am glad to return to my roots!

I have been perusing the forums for a few weeks as I have all financing in order and am ready to take the plunge. I am looking at the following:

CGM
RS Package
Automatic Trans
Cargo Mat

I have been quoted actual dealer invoice (2010 2SS - 36200.00) and (2010 2LT - 29,710.00). One dealer has a 2011 coming in in two weeks quoted at 36,422.00 without cargo mat).

Two questions:

1. Wait for the 2011 or go with 2010? Not sure I will like HUD? Are these good prices for 2010 models?

2. Go V6 or V8? It will be my DD to work (15 freeway miles each way). I am not a racer but do want a good resale value. Do I save money on fuel and get better gas mileage or do I get a car that will do 0-60 in 4 seconds.

Any help here? I appreciate any feedback!

You need to get what YOU want, not what the other forum members "think" YOU want. I can say that I bought a 2LT and absolutely love this car with no regrets. It's a DD with over 14,000 miles. The car flies and I'm averaging 22-23 mpg. I could have afforded the SS, but just didn't think over 400hp for a DD was necessary for me. Good luck with your decision and welcome to the site.

Thanks. That is what I am debating. I almost always try to buy the best if I can afford it, but I am wondering if the 2SS is overkill for what I am using it for. Don;t want to regret it later or if I go to sell, want to be able to find a buyer.

Think of it like this, either way it's a Camaro. When I read that the base engine for the Camaro put out over 300hp I was amazed. When looking at mine, I considered the V6 to save money but being that I could afford the SS and this was a car I've been dreaming about I went all out. Bottom line though, either way IMO, you can't go wrong.

I love the V6. But I love it. I, being the key word. Have you test driven both?

As for resale, someone will buy the V6.

Yes, I've driven both a few times. I must admit, I smiled each time I drove the SS. Just weighing gas mileage, Premium vs Regular gas, etc.
