CAI Reccomendations

Whats the most popular / best Cold Air Intakes for our 2010 SS's......looking at K&N Typhoon....however I've heard metal intake tubes are frowned upon becuase they conduct heat.....

I like and have the K&N Typhoon, but I'd hold off for a short time because our friends at Jannetty Racing have a comparison test about to happen with several of the top brands. They have a thread started, should be interesting.

There is a search function that will bring up elentybillion threads with this exact title. There's also at least two threads on the first page of the section.

ADM Performance

We recommend ours -

I put together a small list of reasons why our Intake has benefits of other designs.I made this available to aid in those not sure about what they are buying or looking to buy.I hope this helps you in your decision as we aim to please each and every style of customer from the basic bolt on to the most extreme power level customer.

ADM Performance Intake – Benefits

Benefit #1
Powder Coated finish of exposed aluminum parts.

Benefit #2
Lightweight aluminum parts and pieces. Aircraft quality stainless screws and fasteners.

Benefit #3
MAF/IAT sensor is relocated into the airbox itself, out of the engine bay hot air environment.
This permits the ECM to read cooler temps which translates into increased timing and more
power without triggering any knock retard. Increased timing means more horsepower.

Benefit #4
The ADM airbox location permits cooler air to be ingested from the factory scoop located
behind the grill on the driver side as well as around the washer bottle and fender well... Not
from the hot engine bay area.

Benefit #5
Future upgrading to turbos, superchargers, etc can still utilize the ADM intake system. This
means that no money is wasted now as this system has more flexability than many others.
So as you consider added engine mods in the future this intake system can remain in your car.

Benefit #6
Should you choose to de-mod your vehicle in the future most all of the parts can be utilized in
future applications. The ADM filter is a 4” universal type not specific to this intake only. The
ADM silicone couplers can be used on other custom applications as well. Even the exclusive
6061 100mm MAF housing is universal and could be used on other applications.

Benefit#7
ADM uses a Full 4” 100mm ID system from the filter to the throttlebody.

Benefit #8

The availibity for a “FULL RACE VERSION” which enhances the factory ducting system to TRAP and DIRECT a cold air stream directly into the SEALED AIR BOX

I installed a C.A.I. cold air intake on mine this afternoon and I absolutely love it. The sound is great and there is a noticeable increase in throttle response. I went with the C.A.I. based on the results from Jannetty's test and the responses from members on the forum who went with it as well. It was also a breeze to install, took less than 3o minutes.

Lewylew,

I read somewhere that C.A.I. would not work with a supercharger, due to fitment reasons not performance reasons. Did you have to do any modification to get yours to fit? And, is that the TVS supercharger?

Thanks in advance.

Dude, everybody is just going to recommend what they have. Bottom line: If it fits well and has a quality filter you're golden. I will be honest though that I really like that the ADM setup has an enclosed air box. Its definitely a seemingly better design than others. I'm not so sure its worth the extra $200-$300 depending on the kit though. If this is for just a typical bolt-on street application I'd want some proof of a significant advantage first.
