there is a paint code and you will be able to have it matched. so dont worry. just find a good painter that knows how to read and has a good eye to match it

Yeah, but isn't that going to cost a small fortune?!?! My buddy's speed shop does paint and he said a top of the line paint job is like 15K?!?! There's a lot of work involved. Body has to be taken apart, paint has to be stripped, car has to be prepped to name a few processes.
I do believe you have to take the car apart for a paint job. (Some shops charge 65 bucks an hour.)

The paint code will be around, there are other cars that use the same paint, it is just being discontinued on the Camaro. besides body shops will have to be able to match the paint unless every ABM painted car is never wrecked....

i think you need to find a better offer. a good paint job w/ top of the line paint should not cost 15k, but then again you are in MA. Here in AZ it would cost half that.

I'm sorry you won't be able to get your Camaro in ABM, guess it will make the VRchoice easier....Don't know why this color didn't catch on other than a crappy web picture at the beginning. I thought too that when I was ordering IOM, UNTIL I saw the ABM on an LS at the Philly Auto Show. I'm so glad I switched to ABM now. I've gotten stopped numerous times over the color, more than the Camaro itself.Glad I'm "One of the FEW BLUE". Which, might be my new tag for my Camaro
You made a great choice Walt! IOM looks too red, and when it comes to orange "Keep it simple" is the right approach. IOM is a gimmicky color, IMO...ABM just plain rocks, under any light. Something that can't be said for any of the other colors. While I like VR too, it does come off as a little too bright in sunlight.

Hard to Believe the best color is being discontinued, isn't it? GM is so short-sighted. While many of the "first wave" Camaro buyer's may have thought Aqua Blue wasn't a "muscle car" color I can guarantee you that the second wave of buyers, after seeing this great color in person, will love it, as you've found. I loved it on my 78'....Not that I have to tell you this, but no other color currently available, or soon-to-be available, showcases the sharp and subtle lines of this car better-in a variety of light conditons...The attached pic says it all. This color blows all the other's out of the water...Hence the name

This has been anguishing for me. Finances are tight right now, and its the worst time of the year in Minnesota to acquire a hot sports car that you don't want to drive in the tough winters we have, and all that salt on the roads. That being said.....I'm keeping options open. ABM may be in the cards yet.

It won't matter if the color is discontinued...the formulas are available to the bodyshop. Heck, even a new car can have paint formula variances depending on what plant it was built in or which VIN the car has. Most shops have the colors and formulas at hand to mix and tint the color to match...it's just how it is, don't worry. I have been painting cars for 25 years, I'm not saying it's easy, but it's not a huge problem for someone that knows what they are doing...

Ya know...I was a huge fan of this color but had reservations. I even bought a Camaro model and painted it ABM with the formula right off of my Dupont website and paint mixing bench...I posted pics on here back in March or April here somewhere...anyway, I did get to see one at a dealership awhile back and the color just didn't "pop" unless the sun hit it. It's the pearl in color that does it. I saw the color on a HHR and it looked bland...I saw it on a Colorado and the sharp bdylines made the color look good. Well, it really won't matter now, since GM is dropping the ABM...but now I might go Summit White with blue stripes........I already have built the model and painted it to match. I will post pics on the Summit White Camaro thread....eventually!
