I went from the manual tranny to 4l80e and have not regretted it for a sec. It was not cheap by no means but it was well worth it

good to hear, i just ordered a squash 1200hp fuel system, dry nitrous kit and a smaller pulley for the whipple and am going to be doing the 4l80e swap. i was just trying to get an idea how much people were spending. really trying to hit 9's and be completely streetable

Not much to update in that thread, nothing has really changed. Have about 10k on my swap and no issues yet.

Parts will cost approximately $7400 from RPM depending on what level. They posted this in another thread. The above is for a level 7 and includes everything you need.

It all depends on what transmission level you need, but the swap is straight forward and relatively simple. I just about have the tuning wrapped up on a buddies car that did his own swap using the install kit from RPM, with the PCS controller, a circle d converter and flexplate, and a custom driveshaft.
