Only thing I did not like about the Nitrogen was that my dealer had put these cheesy ugly plastic green caps on the tubes. It was the first thing I saw when I looked at the my polished alum wheels..... I told them no way I was leaving there with green plastic caps like that. They had some nice stainless caps they changed out that had N on the top end to represent Nitrogen.

NIce Thank's for the info.

Costco has free nitrogen.
|
Why not use Helium it has a root mean square travel rate of 1370 m/s this is 14 times faster than nitrogen plus it will make your car lighter because this is what make balloons float.

Those metal caps will react with the tiny electrical charge generated by the TPMS and bond themselves to the valve stem, you will not be able to remove, after the covers were stollen from my Acura RL replaced with metal ones, 3 out of four could not be removed, had to replace entire TPMS valve assembly |

That should help lessen the bonding issue.
|
Put some dielectric grease on the threads, they won't bond/fuse together.
|
check if they are really chromed plastic, not metal, It is from galvanic action of dissimiliar metals, anything plastic is fine.
