I DID NOT THINK 10-40 WAS RECOMENDED FOR ANY NEW ENGINE ANYMORE??????

Can you get under the car without jacking it up to change oil/filter ?

10-40, ohh boy, get ready to replace some seals. You will start blowing by them with that oil making that kind of pressure in the engine.

You have to lift the car ........ Or have 8foot skinny arms .... Also use jack stands --- saftey first

changed mine today 775 miles. Drained oil filter, small shiney STUFF came from the filter.I will cut open the filter tomorrow to look inside.

I changed my oil last week and my floor jack would not fit under the car. I used 2 of the square RV honeycomb square leveling blocks. I used one under each front tire, it raised the car an inch or two just enough to get the floor jack under the front cross member. Found great places for the jack stands without a problem. Even though the filter is vertical there is a lot of oil that comes out when you remove the filter. The oil plug is in a good place and does not get any oil on the frame at all. The oil pan looked and felt like aluminum so remember to be careful and do not over tighten the oil plug.

Also save your receipts and document the mileage and your work, you may need it down the road if you have issues and have to take your car to the dealer in the future. I save my receipts and box tops of my filters

5w30 Mobil 1 Synthetic.... 8 qrts... sounds about right.

why would you put 10w-40 in?
5w-30 or if you live in a hot climate maybe 10w-30, but not 10w-40.

5W30 and it does NOT take over 8 qts... It may look like it needs more but it takes a few minutes to settle.

I bought a K&N filter for 15 bucks at a local parts store. Then you don't have to worry about the oil change place not listing your filter or putting a generic brand on. Get ready to shell out 100 for a good oil change...;)
