HARDTOP CONV!!!! x2

scnhra 11-30-2009 02:34 PM

Wonder if that 3rd window will roll down. I really wish it would in the hard top for old time sake not that anyone rides back there anyway. :-)

3rd window? which one is that?
If you mean the rear quarter windows they will either go down with the top or they will have their own switches... they would look dorky if they didn't go down..

Come on guys, think about it , A Camaro with a hardtop convertible top.. How much do you think that would cost? you are going to put it into Corvette territory.. this is an everymans car.. it had to have compromises somewhere, shark fin, radio antenna, top (which I think compaired to other convertibles looks dang good) it all works for the Camaro to help keep the costs inline so they can get it past the beancounters and into production.

it's not a keyhole, that's the backup camera :yikes: maybe:facepalm:

It's so hard to make a car convertible with it looks great in Hardtop.

I was thinking that too... have the quarter window operable and then see what it would take to roll that into the coupe as a mod. Yeah I know... structural integrity... :yikes: A guy can dream can't he?? The Vert looks nice. I am sure the fitment attachments will change as they massage the details. I was orginally a Vert waiter... now Z... but could go back to Vert! :chevy:

She's here and she's out and about! The production version 2011 Camaro SS Convertible has been spotted testing on US soil for the first time. We have previously seen the production Camaro convertible in Australia, but this is the first that we have seen this car in North America (wearing Michigan plates).

As just recently reported, the 2011 Camaro Convertible has been confirmed to be entering production in the first quarter of 2011.

I'm not a fan of the vert myself, but I'm very glad it's coming to market! And its here in Michigan :happyanim:

I'll carry the camera with me although it's not likely to see the top down these days. brrrrrrrr ;)

THUMPER20X 11-30-2009 03:56 PM

I bet it would look sick with a styling/roll bar.

tjbusa 11-30-2009 04:56 PM

Beautiful

chevydude26 11-30-2009 05:03 PM

so far so good...i'm sure the shark fin can be hidden somewhere and the reverse light what are you gonna do about it right

wish i can see it with the top down and to the guy who said the windshield should be higher i'd like to see what that would look like and what difference it would make

camaro10 11-30-2009 05:04 PM

Looks great!:chevy:

chevydude26 11-30-2009 05:22 PM

were the proportions of the rear changed?

nassau97 11-30-2009 05:28 PM

No thanks. Never liked convertibles and this is no exception.

markbolt 11-30-2009 05:34 PM

Not sure if that is the truck key or what? But were is the Chevy emblem on the back of the trunk?

WadeWilson 11-30-2009 05:38 PM

:confused0068::yikes:

No thanks. Not for me but to each his own I guess. Just don't like a rag top. IMO it takes away from the car.

markbolt 11-30-2009 05:39 PM

Sorry, meant to say trunk key and where is the chevy emblem on the back of the trunk?

chevydude26 11-30-2009 05:41 PM

the lights look smaller or something looks different about the rear I can't put my finger on it

Scrappy Doo 11-30-2009 05:51 PM

Looks good. Im not a drop top guy, but it's a nice car.

How about in the mirrors like the Corvette?

Captain Awesome 11-30-2009 06:42 PM

Where the heck are these "I wanna Hardtop Convertible" folks coming from?

We've had spy photos of this car for what? Over a year now... The thing is going into prodduction next quarter! It's a little late to be calling for changes!

Speaking of which... if the thing is this close to production, the brake light and the shark fin are probably WYSIWYG at this point in the game.

But, I can picture the car in my mind with the top down and it definitely has a nice look to it. It will be sweet!

DrVonkle 11-30-2009 06:59 PM

:barf:

98_Camaro 11-30-2009 07:01 PM

IMO, this isn't the car that can pull off the convertible look.
But then again, I think that very few cars can.

Why're there two antennae?

pacecar 11-30-2009 07:04 PM

i just soiled myself! i have been waiting for this for a loooong time. looks good, antenna and xm shark fin look ok, 3rd brake light would look better in spoiler but would be problematic for easy spoiler changes.

pacecar 11-30-2009 07:05 PM

a hardtop would be HOT, a fair compromise would be hard covered soft top like the vette -- i would sport that!!
