just wanted to share some of my build, couldn't find all the pics I wanted but most of the important stuff. started with taking out the whole subframe, rolled it into the garage and went to work. motor came off first and was disassembled and sent to the machine shop for new rings bearings etc. put a small erson cam in(which will not be in there very much longer.) scorpion 1.6 rockers, heads ported/polished(another mistake), edelbrock intake, bbk 52 mm tb, 30mm accel injectors, lunati lifters, new springs, msd opti cover with wires and coil, cloys timing chain, new chain cover, bosch +4 plugs, dougs shortys with a magnaflow highflow cat and cherrybomb muffler, pcmforless tune, it has canton racing valve covers just couldn't find the picture of that at the moment, rk sport ram air intake, bmr full front suspension( rear will be don't in the winter months) and today I will be getting my new monster trans with 2500 stall and my 3.73's! will post more pics as I can find them and before during and after tranny install!:headbang:

Any thoughts on how much power that thing makes?

dreeve 05-23-2013 08:16 AM

the machine shop that ported the heads and ordered my cam said around 380hp, so I m gonna go with that until I can get him on a dyno

when you said opti I started to cry! Man I hated that!

Ever thought about the opti to coil pack conversion?

thats a pretty good idea steveo9043. what would I do with my opti though, like what would replace its spot on the motor?? and thanks ivan@southwestspeed! I would upload more pictures but my computer is all screwed up and wont let me

dreeve 06-06-2013 07:36 AM

ironic thing is..i have to pull the motor again bc of a head gasket leak, timing chain cover leak and a new motor mount.... :( so that is a possibility, along with a bigger cam ;)

steveo9043 06-10-2013 01:11 PM

from what i remember the opti is still there but it does not use the high voltage in the opti, its passed to the coils. Which drastically prolongs the life of the opti (still have to worry about the water pump tho).

Edit: this is on the part information

This unit still uses the factory optical module in the Optispark for reference, but no high voltage is passed through it. This removes the source of damaging ozone that eventually leads to Optispark failure.

Those pretty red BMR parts will look good under the car onec you get everything back together!

BMR makes some good shit! I have their extreme duty drag bar in my 4th gen. It makes the stock sway bar look like a pencil. Car leaves perfectly level now.

yea I love the bmr suspesnsion. even though my front sway bar is rubbing against my harmonic balancer....still waiting to hear back from bmr about that one.

Let me look into this for you and I will get back to you on it.

well I am going to rebuild the motor again this winter...bigger is better so I will be replacing the motor mounts and that should solve the problem like we talked about over the phone. and I will also be installing bmr suspension in the rear along with 1" lowering springs ;)
