Charge for IOM?

While I was out at my dealer looking at another delivered car, they handed me a paper with my VIN on it....A9112690 and it said due in on 06/15/09! One thing I don't understand though is this is a BARS document display and it doesn't show my car as being a preorder and has a charge for the IOM paint. I ordered this car in Nov 08. Can anyone explain this? Could it be that when they received my allocation and the car was officially ordered, that it reset the date from there? I received my welcome packet and signed lithograph when I initially ordered it. I didn't think that there would be a charge for IOM on a R6P.

Start stomping your feet! As long as you have your order sheet with your order number and order date on it, you should be okay. Do you have the documents?

Yes, I have every bit of documentation ever handed to me. I am going to call the dealer today and ask about it. I didn't notice it until I got home last night.

they will probably tell you what they told me. And that was they couldn't do anything about it. I ordered in October and my car is going to be here on Friday with the up charge for the paint

My Dealer told me the same thing:mad0259:My order has been in since November of 08.

I think IOM will be Camaro's #1 ordered color:)followed closely by "Black"

Picked mine up tuesday 2SS/RS inferno orange interior. They stated MSRP in March and Made me pay MSRP as of 06-02-2009 which had the upcharges on it. They really want you to get mad a walk away because there's 10 other people standing in line to buy the car. The orange is definetly worth the extra money though. Just do as I did cut off those awefull mufflers.

Dealer contacts? Get the emails going. These dealers shake your hand they should stick to it. I am gonna spit in my palm and have a video taped handshake when I buy mine, yea even one used lol. (No I won't if new it's not a bad idea).

Please read this thread... I would print out and/or forward the documents posted to them.

The current recommendation is talk to your dealer. Tell him to check his communications from GM and that your price was supposed to be protected. He can call the DBC to get more info. If he disagrees, call the cusomer service line. Explain your issue and ask them to contact your dealer and explain the price protection to your dealer. If your dealer STILL refuses, you don't have much choice but to either pay the higher price or walk.

Walking is what they want though. I have fought this fight this week. But its sure worth a try though.

Did you do the things listed? Print out the email GM sent to customers and the one sent to dealers? Contact CS about it? I really can't see an honest dealer ignoring all of this, particularly when a GM rep tells them that they are price protected. If a dealer is going to do this they might as well just charge you a $1000 over MSRP while they're at it.
