rolnslo, THANKS! i owe you one :drinking:

Thanks so much for the re-suggestion to flip the mirror… when I had looked at it before it appeared to be a no gain but after removing the plastic wiring cover AND unhooking the wire connector from the windshield and moving it to one side, I was able to flip the mirror and tuck the onstar buttons up behind the headliner!
I just could not see the forest for the mirror (trees). I started this thread in hopes of help and I got it! (after several bruises) Thanks!

I'm estimating that this gives another inch of visibility! (which is a big percentage)
I will have pix posted tonight (need a flash).
I would still like to see a thinner mirror but this is a great improvement while I hunt!

Glad that worked for you. Good luck with your search for a smaller mirror and let us know what you find.

Drive faster

Concur and the vette thing so true. I just commit to my turn and go like hell. lol. Definately safer to drive offensively. Well that's my opinion. Especially when doing a lane change on highway.

Definitely need to see pics of this... don't spare the shutter.

I assume you adjusted the mirror full up? This provides an inch or so. There are 2 pivots that allow you to move the mirror much higher.

It's nice to see I'm not the only that is having trouble getting used to that mirror, twice in the two days I've had it, I didn't see the vehicle on my right when I was at a stop sign.
I'll need to remember to 'bob and weave' at every stop now :)

Thanks for the great pics... makes it very clear what you did, and I agree it appears to greatly improve visibility. Guess I'll decide if I am going to do that, once I get my car. A problem I long to have really.

Are the OnStar buttons still accessible/functional with your new setup?

Do you know how tall the rear view mirror is on your 2SS car?
