blower cam poll

Trying to figure out how to do a poll. Which blower cam would you choose. Jre rough idle, ecs big blower, night fury, tsp blower, or custom grind.

see my thread over in engines...110whp gain on a GPI vvt grind...but I'm guessing you have an LS3...your loss. :D

I voted for the ECS cam, because they are the best.:biggrin:

You guys with custom grinds have more cubes right. Im still stock. Im not sure im at the level that needs a "custom" grind. Im sure all these companies that have blower cams did there homework and didnt just pull #s out of thin air. And when you get a cam specced for you is it going to be more aggressive than an "off the shelf" grind? I dont want to be replacing valvesprings every few months. Also how much detail do you think these people that spec out cams go into. Lets say this guy has 2" headers, 12 psi and someone else has 1 7/8" , 10 psi. Are the cam specs going to be different. I doubt it

There is more power to be had with a custom grind on any size motor, 400+ cubes or not. A custom grind is typically more aggressive than off the shelf, but that is becasue I would argue that most custom cams are going in cars that want that. A custom cam is just that CUSTOM. It can be ground anyway you or the builder wants.

The cam specs will be slightly different between those two cars if you are going to maximize the setup. But they would be damn close, yes.

Off the shelf cams are good, but custom costs the same. Why put a universal part on your custom build?

vengeance custom grind

you can identify a vengeance car by the sound of their custom ground cams

East Coast Supercharging 10-04-2013 10:56 AM

You guys do realise that all the cams listed are "custom grinds" right?

LOL @ post #9

2SS45th 10-04-2013 11:02 AM

Yes, but not in the sense that the are custom ground for your specific build.

Camper 10-04-2013 11:07 AM

if you have a ECS blower setup why wouldnt you work with ECS or someone like FSP that has a ton of experience with their own blowers? im sure a ton of R&D has gone into it.

grocerygetter 10-04-2013 11:44 AM

To the OP...you need to talk to your tuner and see what he likes and wants to tune.
