Wheel weights on my Camaro's calipers

Anybody know what the deal is on the stack of wheel weights on both front calipers on the 2010 with brembo's? I will try to attach a picture. UPDATE: OFFICIAL ANSWER FROM JOHN FITZPATRICK: Some early Camaro customers noticed that there are weights on the Camaro SS calipers. With high-performance vehicles like the Camaro SS, minor brake noise is not uncommon. The weights act as a damper to reduce noise in certain driving conditions. This was done after careful evaluation and validation by our engineering team. These weights will only be added to early builds of the Camaro SS. |
haha.. looks like someone doesn't know the difference between the wheel and the caliper is al. HAHAHA

Interesting way to increase unsprung weight.
Uh, other than a playful assembly line worker, I can't think of a thing. Rob |

What the???
|
:iono: Weird, are these on your car ?
|
I swear I've seen something similar in the past, but I can't remember where.
|
I always put em on the wheels...:character0182:

Yea, on both sides. I don't recall ever seeing anything like this. Lots of weights on the wheel as well. No problem to 100 mph, and braking very shortly after that.
|
That's ridiculous !!... Those weights are not doing anything but looking ugly !
|
Hmmm............man, I'm glad they have my car somewhere else looking it over again so I don't end up with weights on my calipers.:sm0:
|
I bet it's the way they calibrate the handling of the car. It must have a perfect 50/50 weight distribution...
LOL! |
Sounds to me like they have a new guy on the line, and he doesn't know where wheel weights go. This is comforting.

Those are special edition tuned Brembos, which is a rare factory option. You are so lucky :bellyroll:
