:word: I think GM's using those comments to try to show value :) At least - that's what I hope :confused0068:

Nice info here in vid. Wish I could buy the mag control suspension on the 2SS...do not need the HP but the mag control ride and the 5 levels of traction control would be a nice option...

I was thinking about shock replacement last night... Even if these are somewhat reasonable in price, what happens when GM stops making replacements? Does Autozone carry MR shocks, and if not, where do we go then?... I know many aftermarket coilovers are rebuildable... What happens with these shocks?...

I put in a call to GM President Mark Reuss to have him bring the car by my house so I could get a better look at it and take it for a ride. I have not heard from him yet. The ZL1 will be a wonderful car, I only wish that Jay Leno had said that this was the fastest production car under $60,000 instead of $75,000. Nice video though.

:laughabove::laughabove::laughabove: Yeah - I'm hoping they're just using that example to alude to the value ZL1 will be. Seeing statements like those worry me...

Yes, me too. But if it is that high, then I will buy the CTS-V instead.

Well put. At least that's what I want to believe.

I think that GM knows that if the ZL1 is priced much more than ten percent higher than a "similarly equipped" GT500 or in the CTS-V range, most potential ZL1 buyers will choose to purchase other vehicles. The ZL1 needs to be priced in the range where its target demographic can and will purchase it.

It is absolutely a droolmobile, but my gut says I'll never be able to afford it. I guess my SS and I have a long relationship ahead of us.

"Engineers running GM." It's a big point. Love it!

Slurp..........................................and being a fan of Leno, still remebering when he was a simple a sit in guest comedian for Carson...........its nice to see him hobnobbing with the commoners like the Pres of GM.

Took a ride in my friend's brand new CTS-V coupe and I tell you, look & feel wise, it's even better than M5 [that he traded in]. Might be a tad slower than ZL1, but it turns ahead every where.

I respectfully disagree. I think GM has already done it's homework and knows how many of these cars they can sell on an annual basis based on brand-loyalty alone. Let's face it, even if the updated GT500 outperforms the ZL1, there are still a ton of people who would never buy one based simply on the fact that it is produced by Ford. IMO, GM is counting on those people to buy this car, not your average unbiased consumer. And if the price is too high for "a Camaro", they will likely lean to staying in the GM family and go for a Corvette (performance) or CTS-V (luxury/performance).
