They tried to pull that on me and I get GMS. Luckilly I had printed the GMS sticker online and called BS on their price and told them they were off by $350. They were lying saying the price was GMS with no fillers. Wont buy there again. Not to mention their service dept sucks.

Yes it is a legit fee on the invoice. It is already figured into MSRP.

It's amazing. This site is becoming a true reflection of the internet in that there is so much misinformation you can't tell the real info from the bogus info.

Draco was 100% correct, /thread.

So the advertising fee is included with MSRP but NOT included with invoice? Am I reading this correctly, or is the advertising fee already included into invoice also?

SchwarzerDrache 07-18-2010 09:34 PM

My understanding is it is in the MSRP but not in the invoice. That is why the invoice is different for different regions. But I could be wrong.

JustFresh 07-18-2010 09:49 PM

here is how it plays out...GM charges you as the buyer for their advertising fees...it is on the invoice to the dealer...

The Viz 07-19-2010 08:40 AM

It is in the invoice price.

Right, but the invoice price is different per region, correct?

Correct, and from what I researched a few months ago, Maryland has one of the lowest invoice prices in the country! You guys are lucky!

Really? That is surprising.

Thanks for letting us know the 100% correct /thread.

With all good intentions, we really do want to know the correct information.

What I found at a few dealers when I was fishing around my part of the country for the best price on a Camaro was that some of the dealers, even after I asked for their "bottom line" price, would say things like "we sell at invoice". Then I would press them by saying so that's it? No surprises? Then they'd say something like, "well of course there is the $171 advertising fee and the $64 documentation fee that needs to be added on". It would sorta tick me off when they did that. I much prefered the dealers that just gave me their best price.

I ordered a new Camaro on Tuesday. They are selling it to me at invoice price, then a $545 Advert/Adjustments charge was added to Invoice price, along with $850 Destination Charge. The $450 didn't show up in the MSRP column on the print out, and I watched him as he selected my options and built my car on the GM dealer website.
Is this charge legit for me??? Just want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.
Thanks

Go to truecar.com and put in your zip and it will give you the invoice for your region including the advertising fee.
