I've got over 6k miles on the standard bushings and have no issues. Loosened initially a bit (it was really too tight) but hasn't gotten any worse. Good to know that Hurst has a solution (even if it's an additional cost)

My shifter only has a couple of hundred miles & is still tight. I bought the bushings to have when it loosens up. Most of you guys are too young to remember, but Hurst went through this same problem back in the late 60's & 70's with their Competition Plus shifters.
