My LSX swap - 1991 Z28 convertible
I've got a pretty in depth, time and money consuming project underway with my convertible. I'm putting a 6.0 LSX and a T56 in the car to compliment everything else I have modified on the car.
Details on the swap: 2000 6.0L LQ4 from a Silverado 2500HD -forged and teflon coated Mahle pistons -forged Eagle rods -Clevite bearings -ARP hardware -Texas Speed 228R (228/228 .588/.588 112LSA) -317 casting heads -PAC dual valve springs -LS6 intake (still need to buy, have an LS1 intake in case I run out of money though) -balanced and blueprinted And of course, the T56 M6 transmission. As of right now, the block is completely torn down and just got sand blasted on Monday. It's staying at the machine shop for assembly, balancing, and blueprinting. It is getting bored, honed, and decked and will be ready for heads very soon. I worked out a nice deal to get the forged internals bought for me in exchange for some paint and body work on a 1989 Formula. I should have the motor blueprinted and assembled later this month. Here's just a few pictures of the progress: http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...p/IMG00095.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...p/IMG00096.jpg ^^^^^ Most of those parts are for sale due to me not being able to use the accesory drive, intake, and exhaust for the swap. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...swap/block.jpg ^^^^ after the sand blasting. You should have seen the bottom side of the block before it got worked on. It looked like it came out of a salt truck. |
NICK!!!!!!!!! Whats up man?when did you get over here from Z28.com?
hows that beauty of yours holding up? |
I just joined like last week or something. :D
She's doing good. A friend of mine is putting a Walbro 255lph pump in it right now as a wedding gift, which will be one less thing I have to do with the swap. :headbang: |

Hahaha, yea we're actually getting hitched on the 23rd. I haven't made much progress on the block because my time has been spent fixing up our new house to get ready to move in. :)
I'll post pics of the car later, I'm posting from my phone right now and it would take forever to copy the image links from photobucket and put em' in here haha |
