CEL with code P2176
Hey guys, i could use a little bit of help here.
I got a check engine light a couple days ago, so i looked up common causes and tried doing some fixes, i tightened my gas cap properly, filled up with fuel injector cleaner and 93 oct at BP and still it stayed on. So i went to autozone today and they gave me the error code Error Code: p2176 Sensor 1 and APP sensor 2 signal voltage fault Explanation: The ECM has detected the APP sensor signal 1 and 2 do not agree Probable cause 1. Poor electrical connection 2. Failed APP sensor So i did bit of search there is not too much on this code that i could find, but what i did find seemed to point to throttle body issues, sludge build up on it and etc. Forum member recommended just cleaning it properly. I will be trying that this weekend but i would appreciate any additional advise and help to this matter Thank You Edit: i forgot to mention i have installed a ported TB since Early last month. -Vin |
Bump guys, anyone?

Bump bump.
Got the same code coming up on mine as well. |
The P2176 code is set when the difference between the predicted and the actual throttle position is more than a calibrated amount for more than 1.5 seconds.
Possible Causes. Faulty Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module - Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module harness is open or shorted - Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module circuit poor electrical connection - Throttle plate sticking due to carbon build-up - Engine Control Module The Engine Control Module (ECM) is the control center for the Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) system. The ECM determines the drivers intent and then calculates the appropriate throttle response. The ECM achieves throttle positioning by providing a pulse width modulated voltage to the TAC motor. The TAC system uses the following circuits for Motor control 1 and Motor control 2. Two processors are also used to monitor the TAC system data. Both processors are located within the ECM. Both processors monitor each other's data to verify that the indicated throttle position is correct. Read more: http://engine-codes.com/p2176_chevro...#ixzz2sqy9NvB9 |
I had this problem last summer with mine. I ended up getting a whole new TB
