Zl1 vs new m5
I think the new m5 will give a good run Road course and drag race.
just remember the new M5 is $92,000. 0-60 3.7 1/4mile 12.0 @ 122 4300lbs how does everyone think the Zl1 will compare? http://www.bmwblog.com/2011/10/26/20...60-in-3-7-sec/ That being said as a bargain it will be very hard to compete with a zl1. I can't wait to see some videos of these two racing each other. |
My money is on the ZL1. More power, less weight, and a much better set-up.

That M5 look's really heavy will give the win to ZL1 all day and stand by it

Just bought car n drive magz, m5 hp is only 560hp, zl1 is 580. 20 more hp on zl1. Maybe if we do drag race camaro will win, but i dont know if full lenght track race.

Well they're both very close in weight, but the ZL1 packs 20 more hp and 50 tq than the M5...with equal drivers I would lean towards the Z pulling ahead of the M in the 1/4. Handling would be close I suspect, though the mag ride may again provide a small boost over the already sick BMW suspension capabilities. No comparison regarding interiors or comforts etc...two different animals and the M is a 90k+ ride..

ZL1 all the way.
|
Don't forget that BMW tends to be extremely conservative with their numbers. I saw the tech video's online when the M5 Engineers went over every aspect of the cars design. It will be a beast!
|
Also take into account that the M5 actually does 0-60 in 3.7, BMW's times are without roll out unlike the ZL1, GT500 etc etc etc
|
Well the new M5 posted a 7:55 Nurburgring time.
The 7:40 the ZL1 posted is a pretty healthy lead if you ask me. |

M5.
Same reason an M3 will walk an SS. There's more than horsepower numbers. Transmission on those cars is godly. |
