C5F4 numbers?

What are the number for the fest? :iono:
Attendance?
Drivers?
Car show?
Drag?
Camarocross?

I am dying to know, comparing it to last year.

GbrilliantQ 08-05-2013 09:08 PM

I heard more drivers than last year, but there were less cars and folks in attendance

From my Note

daveagogo1 08-05-2013 09:10 PM

I have heard the numbers were well short of last year but, as above more racers.

GTAHVIT 08-05-2013 09:48 PM

actually we were down in all categories.

This was the best run event we've had. Much smoother than past fests... But, the weather forecasts were bad, even though the weather turned out to be a nonfactor, we think that kept Sat attendance down.

I think the biggest improvements were to Drag Racing, even though we had a few class problems, and CamaroCross for sure... Pete made huge improvements from last year, fixing all of the technical issues they had.

GM had a huge presence... Bigger than any fest in the past.

Otherwise, like I said numbers were noticeably down.

I think we sold 850 total tickes (racers and spectators)

with something like 700 cars and over 30 vendors.

total people in attendance was close to 1000.

I don't have official numbers but that's pretty close.

There wasn't more racers in the drag racing. I think 10 cars in the unlimited class. Last year there was 56. There prob wasn't more than 30 cars racing all wknd on the strip. I bet there was 4 times that last year. Without the TX boys there was a huge void.

We've been discussing that in the background also... and with our vendors...

We may have underestimated the excitement of moving to a different spot each year...

Something we'll have to think about...

I figured it would have a negative effect just from the chatter down here since the announcement it was going to be in Indy again. I'm sure a move in venue to TX will make a difference. Oh well, you can't please everyone no matter what.

The void left by no Texas crew was huge. I don't think anyone could have predicted that. I have a feeling that next year will be out of control.

TAG UR IT 08-05-2013 11:04 PM

Hopefully not TOO out of control....lol

Yes, numbers were down. But we have great plans for next year. We should be able to get spot on numbers for next year of attendees (sponsors, racers, spectators). We also have some other plans in effect on changing just a couple things up. Should end up being better for everyone. ;)

This, without a doubt, is the reason fest numbers were down this year. This is what we've been wanting to hear from the mods the whole time. Not the "the sign up is different this year, we're really gonna have a bigger crowd!" stuff. Flat out people didn't want to go to Indy again. Except for well, the people near Indy.

I think putting it in Texas was the best move out of the entire history of Fest. I think that C5 Fest 5 will be truly one for the books.

Thank you mods for putting a Fest in Texas.

You're going to piss off people, different people from various regions, every time you move it. Can't avoid that unfortunately. Moving it around gives everyone a fair chance.

How about we start doing this twice a year to increase our chances

I didn't want it in Indy, and I'm right beside it. But the big thing is that we have a great head start towards the next fest. Which we probably couldn't have done if we didn't repeat Indy. No more rush rush, where is the next fest going to be for the next two months. We already have things locked down. :headbang: And the next fest is only 9 months away:happyanim:

Expunge 08-06-2013 08:39 AM

I cant wait for it to get here next year. :) We in the Houston area are definitely looking forward to it.
