Subs

I'm thinking about putting 2 12" subs in there P2 or P3s I was wonder if the trunk space is going to be enough?

I thought that the MTX subwoofers that they offer as an accessory were 12's, but I did a search and it looks like they are only 10's. I think 12's will fit, but you will probably have to install them through the back seats instead of the truck opening.

Yea I saw I'd probably going to have to go through the back which is gonna be a pain, a few years back I had a buddy have to do that with his cobra and he had to unbolt all kinds of stuff to get the back to fit through.........

The rear seats fold down and the pass through arear is a good size so I don't think that would be too much of an issue, a little finagling maybe, but no taking stuff apart.

The custom boys are gonna love that huge pass-thru for mounting subs. EZ.

XAnimal 12-23-2008 05:37 PM

pass-through?

Mr Twisty 12-23-2008 07:33 PM

there's about a 2'x3' opening behind the back seat to the trunk.

ah ok, I thought you were talking about something else

blueforza 12-31-2008 09:27 AM

question?? the sub woofer trunk mounted option is that standard in the 2SS model. and only an option in the other models?

Thanks

Camaro_Corvette 12-31-2008 09:41 AM

No, I believe it is a stand alone option across all models.

Never2LowChevy 12-31-2008 10:15 AM

The pass through behind the back seat wont be big enough. You are gonna have to build the box inside the trunk if you want two twelves. The airspace needed for two twelves is gonna require a box bigger then the opening they give us to sound good. Ive had to do this in several other cars. Its a pain in the ass and its going to make that rattle noise like an 87 buick with foe fiddeens in da trunk!

XAnimal 12-31-2008 10:18 AM

fiddeens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

It sounds ghetto I know, but you could probably maneuver two or three 12" tube style boxes like bazooka tubes. I like the bass response of a ported bass tube personally.

correct c_c. the subs don't come standard on anything. the audio option that comes with the 2LT & 2SS is the Boston Acoustics 9-speaker system

it won't rattle if you use enough Dynamat & put bushings on the license plate screws
