You decide.... I think yes!!

First engine bay photos.
Also featured on homepage.

CLUES:
-- "LLT" letters on some hoses indicate GM's LLT engine (the direct-injection 3.6L V6)
-- throttle-body size / shape and bolts holding it on
-- three fluid reservoirs in the same locations

so does this mean the v6 is not going to be direct injection?

I'd say the engine cover and exhaust says nothing about DI, only that it is the 3.6L.

I believe with 99% certainty that that engine IS the Direct Injected V6:

Attachment 4912

Note the two main similarities:
1: the hump at the rear of the intake manifold,
2: and the vacuum tube going into the manifold.

 Direct Injection

Thats the answer I was waiting for.

But damn, where are all these pics comming from.

Sphinx002 05-22-2008 11:51 AM

Does the non DI have the vacuum hose (can't tell with the covers on)? The hump...now that is something I missed. By George, I think you are right.

Another thing to look for is the Throttle-Body size and shape and the bolts holding it on. Also the three fluid reservoirs are in the same locations. Lots of little cues. Including the servo-looking mechanism on the side of the throttle body!

Hower, one unrelated thing that's cool to see is that the hood is NOT supported by a prop-rod! Cool! I like that! Prop-rods scream "cheap" to me!

AirGoya 05-22-2008 11:56 AM

Never thought i would be so excited about a hump on top of the engine.
I do think it is the DI 3.6 not only because of that but the disciples wouldn't have stressed the performance of the V6 if it wasn't around 300hp.

Captain Awesome 05-22-2008 12:01 PM

What are the chances they will put a nice cover on the Camaro's V6 like that?

ToneyTone 05-22-2008 12:09 PM

I hope this photo wasn't suppose to get out because there is a reflection of a face in the car.

That looks like DI to me - look at the intake casting flash and TB. Looks very encouraging :D

That is a very shiny silver camaro color that we have not seen. This could be a final production vehice shot... The first one seen :)

Captain Awesome 05-22-2008 12:31 PM

Looks black to me.
