Because Tesla is out of funding options, AND they're "robbing peter to pay paul", as it were with advance deposits for cars and trucks not even in production, yet...they are setting themselves up for a very scary future.
In my opinion, they weren't ready for primetime, and Musk let his ambition get ahead of the company's abilities.
