The stock SS pads and ZL1/CTS-V pads are the same material. The only extra bite will come with the added surface area. I haven't done the swap yet so I can't confirm who much difference that makes. FYI, the CTS-V upgrade is $1,017 plus the cost of new caliper bolts. Are you willing to pay over $370 per pound to save 7lbs? I am not, I would buy the CTS-V claipers and look at 2-piece racing brake rotors for a light weight option unless there is some design deature in the stoptech calipers that adds to its worth.
