Sinister Black SS Build Thread (Picture Heavy)
I purchased my black 2011 1SS/RS after I realized Indiana has some of the most random motorcycle riding seasons. After joining the Army in 08, my 09 Harley barely made it out of the garage. In 2011, I took a short ride to the Chevy dealer and walked away from one toy and straight to another. I have been having fun building this Sinister SS ever since.

Go for it. Eric is great. I've been to his shop a few times and have watched all the love he puts into making these hoods. You won't regret it at all.

The difference between the sinister hood and mpd1 is night and day once you have seen both installed. I like the lines of the cowl a lot more on the mpd1. The sinister hood looks good but the mpd1 hood looks a lot better IMHO.

I picked up a Belkin AirPlay Bluetooth receiver last fall. Since I have a 1SS, I don't have a PDMI module. Instead of going out and buying one and then having the dealer reflash the stereo this works just as well IMHO. It connects to any A2DP capable device and plays anything you want. The only thing that really bugs me about it, is when you start the car it doesn't auto sync to your bluetooth device. You have to re-pair your device and then hit play on your music player. (Might just be my phone though.) It pairs quickly though and only takes an extra couple seconds to play music. It also has a build in speaker and picks up calls like a champ. I picked it up onsale for $40. A few guys in the club now use this too. Really decent upgrade if your not interested in the real upgrade.

Picked up some carbon fiber vinyl. It is really easy to work with and looks almost like the real stuff.
Here is an actual piece of carbon fiber on top of this vinyl. |

After some help identifying the leak in the below thread, it looks like I got hit with the dreaded oil cooler leak... So off to the shop for this and some "other" things. More to follow
