Dodge Challenger gets a huge price cut.

http://money.cnn.com/2009/01/22/auto...ion=2009012222

Put this on top of 0% financing and the Challenger is looking that much better for people complaining about the price.

This is great news. This makes the Challenger a better value than the Camaro without incentives or discounts ... Hmmm... I'll have to go check this out since I wouldn't mind having a Challenger in my driveway that is Hugger/Hemi Orange with all the extra's at this point in time and wait a few years to get a Camaro perhaps when they offer somethings similar.....hmm

Yes it does.. Overall if you can get emplyee pricing and 0% financing on the RT-J, it would be the best valued car including features you can buy in that segment... The price of the SRT8 would then equal a Camaro 2SS.. This is making things very interesting since 0% financing would make the Challenger a better value for either the SRT8 and RT-J models.. Obviously GM needs to follow suit on this or else they will have lots of people going over and buying one and save thousands in interest..

This finally makes the Challenger a legitimate competitor. With the price cut, now they can be seen for what they are both worth—more. Both cars are fast performers with a lot going for them in terms of appearance. At the same time, the Camaro is faster and lighter with a better suspension. The Camaro still wins.

I agree the camaro still wins in the performance category however if you get to sit inside and drive an SRT8 Challenger, it is extremely comfortable and I dare say a lot more comfortable than the Camaro leather seats I sat in.. I agree the interior is the same as the Chargers and looks bland in comparison to the Camaro's, however the Challenger has a few things going for it right now that the Camaro does not.. All these incentives, below MSRP, and last but not least you can get one today.... I'm all for waiting 5 to 6 more months however it is hard to pass up these excellent deals on the Challenger at this point in time.. I can still get a Camaro in a few years with a HUD no less if I get a Challenger today and wait...

Those of us who pre-ordered needed it in writing in order to get MSRP and also needed it in writing with the dealers signatures in order for them to honor supplier and employee discounts.. If you have neither in writing, then your dealer can go ahead and charge you whatever they want over MSRP for the Camaro if they didn't specify a price and they don't have to honor any incentives...I've already had a dealer raise the MSRP up by $4,000 after promising me $500 below MSRP and even though they had promised over the phone that they will honor supplier discount, they changed their minds the day of ordering... Bottom line is, unless you have in writing with you pre-order for the Camaro to allow for any promotions or incentives like employee pricing, don't hold your breath even if it is offered....

"Ford has been offering a similar program, also called "Employee Pricing Plus," since Nov. 19, 2008. Under its incentive program, Ford is also offering vehicles at Ford employee prices with additional cash rebates of up to $6,000 on some 2008 models and $2,500 on some 2009 models. "

Ford has been doing this for some time.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."
