When does production begin?

I thought a read Jan 2012. That Is so late for a 12. It should just be called a 13 at that point.

That's right. "Early 2012".

The 2011 Convertibles are starting production/delivery right now, too.

I don't think they care so much anymore about the model years as far as options/model introductions are concerned...both the convertible and ZL1 were ideally supposed to be here a year ago. I'm sure they want to release them ASAP.

Follow up question: What would be the estimated time from start of production until these cars are delivered to dealerships?

As I understand it, a newly introduced car can't have the same MY as the calender year. But additions to a lineup (like a convertible, different trim level, or option package) have no such restriction. I think there are also rules such as you can't have something 2 years in advance (no 2013's in 2011) and there is a cut-off (mid summer I think) when you have to stop building cars of the current MY (no 2011 MY cars can be built in December, 2011). Its all very odd and I can't really figure out the logic behind any of it. Oh well.
