Drag time

Hit up Skyview drags this week after putting on headers. I let my bud who helped me put them on run the car who is quite a bit lighter than I. Ran a 9.56 last week (converted DA & 1/4 equivalent 14.36) ; he ran 9.38 this week (14.08). Not quite sub 14 but, Im not giving up just yet. I have an Injen on its way and hittin a lower elev 1/4 track soon. Then after a couple runs Im turnin on the nitrous

Wow! $3.75 is great price! Heck around here when I was buying it it was $5...

Install sounds like a good price too...

I would have put the car on the dyno and spray there FIRST, making sure the monitor your A/F, to make sure everything is working correctly!

So it seems like even long tubes don't make a huge difference then? Don't get me wrong, I know a couple tenths is huge at the track. For us daily driver types, it just seems that there is really nothing short of FI/Nitrous that gets this car much faster than stock. Stock V6 is mid to low 14's. Add headers, exhaust, intake, and tune and you get low 14's (maybe really high 13's if the stars align).

Isn't the compression over 11.0 on these v6's stock. I'm just wondering how much n20 you can safely use.

I have a 55-100hp kit. If you fo beyond the 55 minimum, they recommend a tune.

Well, the drivetrain loss on a stock auto is 21% (312bhp>247whp) so adding another 30bhp or so should reduce drivetrain loss to about 20%. I figure that right now with LTs and the Injen intake that im a bout 270whp which is about 337bhp. That is a 25bhp gain. Thats really not bad at all for a 3.6L engine that is tuned so well from the factory with just axleback, cai and LTs and no tune.

Are you estimating your HP to be 270whp or have you dyno'd? (sorry I am being too lazy to search today) Also, are you seeing the same percentage gain when looking at torque? For me, getting an extra few hp at WOT is not as desirable as getting a little extra torque down low.

I have dynoed on a greedy Dynojet with less than desirable conditions then added a few since adding the Injen cai. So yeah its sort of an estimate but Im real close. I just wish the dynos were as consistent as these car's output is.
