How can u tell a gm zl1 pump from an aftermarket one?
Just bought a pump, not sure if I want to install it as I'm not sure it's a gm pump. Thought that's what I was getting. The installation is so time consuming if it wasn't a gm I would be hesitant...

Post a photo - it looks pretty much the same as the stock SS pump at first glance, so if it's not like that you have something else.

Most GM parts have the GM logo on them, and a part number. If you cant find the logo, plug in the part number in the Google search bar and look what pops up. Just an idea.

The most noticeable difference we saw when doing our comparison back a couple years ago was the inelet size(you can see it with the naked eye without disassembly) and the gauge wire running to the pump from the connector is 14 ga on the zl1 and 16 ga on the ss(for those that don't know how to read wire size----larger number is smaller wire)
