Rate That Mod Day 32: ACS TL1 Insert
Alrighty then THREAD REVIVAL COMMENCE!!! Was getting to lazy to make these threads but I really need something to do to pass the time in the morning here at the store so here we are with another day of Rate That Mod!
Scores so Far!!! Cold Air Inductions Intake 9.59 2.9L Whipple SuperCharger 9.56 Kooks LT Headers 9.47 MRT v2 9.38 Anvil Notched Spoiler 9.21 Stainless Works Retro Chambered Catback 8.94 Texas Speed Long Tube Headers 8.89 Vmax CNC Ported Throttle Body 8.59 ZL1 Bumper Swap 8.39 RX Catch Can 8.38 Muffler Delete (V8) 8.29 Plasti - Dip 8.15 MPD1 Z-Force Hood 8.12 GM Heritage Grill 7.89 Ark DTS Catback 7.64 NS-1 Stripe Package 7.46 Trifecta Tune 6.86 Sinister Hood 6.77 Kenne Bell Supercharger 6.74 Hex Vents 6.54 BMR 4-Point Strut Brace 6.22 AAC Afterburner Taillights 5.93 Rideskinz Aggressor 2 5.63 Technostalgia Taillights 5.63 GM DoveTail Spoiler 4.64 AeroBlade Spoiler 4.17* Terminator CF Hood 3.89 Lambo Doors 3.30 GM High Wing Spoiler 2.99 Razzi Body Kit 2.30 Muffler Delete (v6) 1.32 Not too shabby of a score for the GM Heritage Grill! A lot of valid complaints and compliments for it. Now on to today's mod. ACS TL1 Insert. IMO performance wise its fantastic. It helps with lift produced at high speeds and heat extraction. Both great reasons to invest in it. Cosmetic wise I'm not sure how I feel about it. It does look great, but I honestly dont think I like it looking so much like the ZL1. My personal score 7/10! I also want to say that when applicable I will try to use pictures and videos to represent the mods in question just to give people an idea of what the mod is like if they do not already know. I pull these at random either from Google, YouTube or even this website. If you find that I have used something you submitted and want me to take it down please let me know and I will immediately! If you have any suggestions on what you would want to see next on Rate That Mod please let me know and send me a PM! |

I like it but, it's a little overpowering cosmetically. 7/10

I say 7, it looks pretty good, definitely quality, cheaper than OEM, seems like it has good install instructions.
But I just dont like the way it looks on a stock SS hood. TOO skinny. |

To me, it looks weird on the stock hood, since it basically stretches from edge to edge, covering most of the raised part of the hood with the insert. You lose the effect and design lines/points that I think need to stay with the stock hood. Basically, I think it only looks good on the ZL1 hood. So this is a great $$$ saver if you buy the stock ZL1 hood, and the ACS insert. |

30 years from now will these vents harm value? Will they look ugly then? That's the only thing holding me back from getting them.
Right now, yeah I think they look freakin awesome. Same with the hex vents! But I just worry I'd regret it later. |
