Taking on Water in Floor Boards in First 24hrs

Well I was completely gaga when I found out my baby was in. I happened to passs by the dealershipat lunch but nothing....I didn't want to call the dealer beecause I was trying to be patient....Next time call the dealer Screw being patient...Anyway I drove by around 4:30 and there she was all wet because it had just rained but still looked as sweet as it could be....

long story short... The next day when I was rearaging something in the back seat...I happened to touch the pass rear floor and I noticed it was wet...It had previously rained here in little rock and has been for quite sometime...I didn't think I left the window open so, I went ahead and soaked it up and put a fan on it to dry up as much as possible .

Well the next day I was going to vacuum up where the drivers side mat was and found it was wet underneath. Didn't make sense so I checked the passeger side....Guess....That too was wet so I decided to call the dealer on Sun and lv them a message.

Come to find out that the tube or hose from the A/C was bend back in toward the car and whle the a/c was running it created all that consensation and water and reverted it back into the car...So much for a new untainted car.... Well they took all day to figure it out and nearly another day to dry needless to say I am in remission and hope to recover....quickly lol

That should have been an easy fix, there was a bulletin about it back in the summer. Just goes to prove, sometimes it is a good idea to check here first. We obviously knew about that and the dealer didn't.

Water on the floorboards is not an easy cause to figure out. It could have come from an improperly sealed window, front cowl, body seam etc.

The pinched A/C tube problem was causing water to spit out the vents with the A/C on. It did not cause the car to flood internally. In this case it sounds like the tube was misrouted, not pinched. Give the dealer a break...he fixed it didn't he?

Well fixed or not I was hopin I would get more than one day without any issues....

Yes it could have been several things but since it was spread out throughtout the car floor who knew...Yes the dealer fixed it but that wasn't the issue

My comments weren't directed at you, they were directed at Heavy D. The dealer had no way of knowing what the problem was until they dug into it. It could have been several issues, not just the A/C drain line and they had to check everything.

As far as your issue...yeah it sucks having a car that went into the shop as soon as you bought it for swamped floor-boards. But, alas, I feel your pain. My car is already popping a "service airbag soon" light and it has less than 500 miles on it!

Same problem !

Just noticed wet floor on pass. side front & rear,I'll fix it myself instead of the butchers at my local Chevy dealer !! I'm pretty sure it has to be the a/c drain hose.

LOL, I just noticed your post! You are a little sensitive aren't you? I really wasn't crucifying the dealer for not knowing like you are implying! I don't expect every dealer and every tech to know and remember every TSB. The point of my post was to show the depth and knowledge of the members of the this forum. 2HOT2HANDLE did say it took them all day to figure out. That is their problem, and I really don't care! Here is the bulletin from JULY, I am sure they have better access to it than we do!!! I am just saying the members here did know about it and the dealer didn't, thats all! Too bad, you don't like it, too bad again!
