Planted seat brackets are - Loose?

I am getting real close to pulling the trigger on some race seats, brackets, Brey-Krause harness bar, and harnesses...

I figured with a name like 'Planted', as well as hearing so many people talk about them, that they were a no brainer...

Until that is, I read this thread!

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=planted+wedge -> and this post specifically from super knowledgeable forum member Mgizzle -> http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=13

The Planted brackets, say what? Wiggle? Looseness? Cramming spacers in to get the front base floor hooks to catch?

What does everyone have to say?

I would have expected a totally locked in seat with the Planted setup. Anything less would have been a massive disappointment! And also non-returnable since they would have been likely drilled for the side bracket (or marked up from drilling the side bracket).

I'd have been raging for sure.

If you have Planted brackets and your seats are either loose and rock - or are as if they are welded to your Camaro - I want to hear from you!

Thoughts guys?

Oh yea - this is the other link - just past halfway down this page it is said that the Planted brackets have 'so much slop as to be unacceptable' ->

How about these Corbeau brackets? Do these lock in tight?

Wish the pictures of the Wedge brackets were still up.

I'm concerned about this since I already purchased the Planted but haven't installed them yet.

These Wedge brackets?

Also this is an option if going with Corbeau seats:

Brey-Krause is willing to make a seat bracket for the 5th gen. They just need someone to provide a test car to their Bethlehem, PA shop.

Anyone here close enough and willing to do this?

Can we all chip in and get Brey-Krause a rental Camaro for the weekend? : )

I was literally ready to order everything, but this has put the brakes on the whole idea for the moment.

Have you guys watched that short :59 second video from my post above (#3). That looks like a damn rocking chair! I would have lost my mind at that!

I'm honestly leaning toward Corbeaus, factory designed seat with bracket combo for our cars has got to work right.

This modification to the Planted bracket might be the best option for me. Plus you can use any seat.

Thanks for Vorshlag for posting this!!

Vorshlag Video -> www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMRlLz5fYas

I asked a couple of questions on this YouTube video and really hope they will answer!

Here are three screenshots from the video that show the modification to the Planted bracket. I hope they don't care that I'm posting it here. I wouldn't think they would, they publicly released it on the YouTubes...

Thanks for chiming in bmbbl be!

Have you watched this 59 second video I posted above?

vorshlag.smugmug.com/Vorshlag-Test-Pilots/Joe-Birmingham-2013-Camaro/i-sc228zg/A

You can't make your seat rock like in this video?

Would really appreciate you watching and trying it, and a reply.

Thanks for the pics of your setup, too!

I will tell you GM puts some serious locktite on the bolts,,, you may think there tight but there not,,, I had to use a 1/2 breaker bar ,,, but there is no play in my seat brackets,,,
