That motor still had excellent oil pressure and I ran it hard for another 10K miles after the cam swap before I sold it. I also had a 2011 Silverado with 170K miles that took much abuse with the stock pump and no issues. And I still have an 08 yukon with 213K miles and the stock pump with no signs of failure.
Based on what's posted on the forum you'd think tensioner and pump failure is prevalent, but it really isn't. But it's still disconcerting to hear that it happens randomly. Guess one just has to rely on their dependability and that the odds of failure in close to 600,000 5th gens built are actually extremely low.

I did change the tensioner out but left the pump , yes you do hear horror stories and they tend to stick out versus all the positive builds without those replacements.
My issue now is the clutch is not liking the added power and I feel a small slip ..

Did you put in a new tensioner or go with a dampener ?

Sounds about right. Mine went around 660whp. If you dont already know, when the day comes to replace your clutch, I would highly suggest one of these...

https://www.tickperformance.com/tick...p-04-07-cts-v/

I did not purchase one, and I can tell you that bleeding the air out of the line is a F-ing nightmare. The stock bleeder valve is in an impossible position, requires two people to operate, and usually spills brake fluid back into the bellhousing all over your new clutch. The last thing you want to do after juggling your trans on your face for two days is deal with that bleeder valve. I wish I had purchased one. You have to pull the trans to install it... might as well do it while you have it out.

That’s what I’ve been hearing. I’ll make sure I pick one up . Curious in what clutch people go with. I hear monster makes a good product . I’ve been reading
Last thing I want to do is pay for dyno time just to have my clutch slip

I've been living on borrowed time for a........well, a really long time!! I'm still on my factory clutch!! Car has put down 806RWHP on e85 @ ~10-11psi so far on the 3.625" pulley.

I presume it's my driving style, and probably more important, tire choice, that has contributed to the longevity of the clutch.

I've heard good things about the Monster, as well as the Mantic. When mine finally lets go, I'll be looking at Monster and Mantic. I already purchased the remote bleeder line from Tick, like 5-6 years ago.

waiting to hear the updated numbers after Saturday's session....

I paid a pretty penny for the Mcleod twin disk RXT HD1200. Not doing that job again.

In all honesty, its a bit chunky/chattery coming out of first gear, but it grabs like crazy and will hold any abuse I can throw at it.

A friend has the Monster LT1-S twin and loves it.

That’s insane .. I was going to message you so see what your clutch was Batman
I was driving home, 2 hour drive stopped at a buddies house for a ride and I believe it was just hot and possibly glazed the surface .
Living in the island I don’t get in it at all but I made it angry that day and the clutch isn’t self healing haha

This is awesome. Can you snap a picture of your crank pulley I’m interested to see how everything is installed. I’m running an underdrive right now would I have to swap back to stock?

Small world indeed. I have the monster twin disk clutch and I love it very smooth engagement. Had it on for 2 years no issues.
