Outside Air Temperature Reading
Hi all, I disconnected my battery yesterday to do a couple things to the interior of my car. I connected it back when I was done and left it alone for the night. Noticed on my way to work this morning that my outside air temperature reading isn’t showing on my radio or HUD anymore. I didn’t do anything to have the sensor fall off or anything. What y’all think could have happened?

It may be my only complaint about the car. (aside from AFM!) Though mine works, it’s rarely ever even been close to accurate. Original was replaced. Same dealeo...Oh well.

Mine has worked just fine before yesterday. I’ll have to try to find it to see if it’s still in place.

Just a thought but maybe unhooking the battery reset some preferences in your system ..maybe there is one to show or not show the Temp ..im not familiar with your year but I know my 2ss has a lot of setting in the radio menus for some crazy stuff

My battery just went dead overnight this weekend. Ill keep an eye on the temp and see if its reset. I know it fixed my mirror onstar buttons. They have been off for a year now they are lite up again. I never had so many electrical quirks in a car before with things getting stuck.

Sorry that I’m just getting back to this, but for some reason, it had come back on by itself. It’s been on ever since.
The sensor is between the passenger headlight and radiator behind the grill.

If quirky stuff like this happens to our cars what the hell is going to happen to e-cars when their battery dies Dealers are gonna make a fortune.

The temp sensor on the Camaro works fine, reads 77F as I write, same as the weather station. Replaced the battery last week, it lasted for a very long time.

Mine works fine....ish. If it's real hot or real cold (for here anyway) it's usually off by 3-5 degrees, or there's so much heat coming off the asphalt that it pegs out on me. I've accepted that it's "good enough" |

Compared to my other two cars, the Camaro is a few degrees out, they both match exactly.
