Angry What possesses people to do this?

I was handwashing my 1 week old Camaro yesterday and came across some gut wrenching marks! I noticed a very fine black scribble on the drivers rear quarter panel, about 2 inches long. The more I looked, I then found several more and panic started to set in. Where was I that this could happen and who is the **LL is so nervy? The car has been parked inside our garage each night and I drove it to work for three days this week, with one quick pit stop at a small grocery store. My kids are quite old enough to know better and I don't just park anywhere - there's always a strategy involved and I couldn't dream that anyone would touch my car at work with cameras on our lot and all.
I tried carefully to rub it out, thinking it was some more grease streaks that I noticed elsewhere on the car and it didn't rub out. It was very very fine, like a fine felt tip pen and there were random scribbles along the upper edge of the wheel well, and by the rear light marker. I called a friend who does body work and he suggested rubbing alcohol or else a buffing compound and rinse with clean water. Since I'm a Nurse, I always have alcohol wipes around and it did the trick and I finished it off with a rinse. I checked over the car more and found yet another scribble just under the drivers rear signal. I took a picture of that one as I never thought of it with the others.
I am sickened by this behaviour and wonder if it was a child scribbling or a jealous adult acting like a child. I know this can happen with any car and it totally stinks, but geeze it's brand new and so special to me!
At any rate, I am ready to break some fingers!!!

Oh man I would be pissed. Someone intentionally defacing your car I would find it hard to not to be very noticeably pissed off.

I'd be ready to break some fingers, too, but keep your cool. If you find someone being childish like this, be sure to say something. Never do anything to suggest you've lost your cool. You never want to be on their level.

I love to wash my cars but I'm always nervous I'll find a new scratch or dent, glad you were able to remove the scribbles Sonya.

Thanks for the support guys, just needed to vent as I definitely want to keep my cool. Pretty certain it wasn't road tar. It was pretty isolated to that one rear quarter area above the wheel well. I did note some road tar that was closer to the ground and it smeared when trying rub off and eventually it came off with some degreaser. But this fine stuff wouldn't budge. The alcohol swabs had navy blue residue on them leading me to believe it was ink. Luckily the pen they chose to use didn't scratch it.
Accidental little nicks and scrapes are although painfully acceptable with normal wear but purposeful damage is another thing. It initially bugged me enough to question if I wanted to be so afraid to drive and park this car anywhere. I worked hard and wanted this car for so long and it's mine and I'm pretty determined to drive it confidently and will be super selective where it gets parked.

This is the work of, what I've determined with every story like this, JEOLOUS A$$WIPES. Just because they don't have a GREAT LOOKING car, they're theory is no one should.

What goes around comes around, they'll get theirs one day, and hope they don't come to you for treatment . Afterall you're a professional and you wouldn't have it any other way.

Glad your car is back to normal, it looks GREAT

Its road tar. All cars get it. It just takes a little extra ummph to remove it.

Randomly stroll through your neighborhood breaking the fingers of children that have pens on/with them...jk!!!!!

I found a few similar on mine as well but not as noticeable, washed right off.
