I believe they come with the 2LT and 2SS packages, still not sure if the 2LT includes the RS but I don't think so...

From the Automobile Mag story, but they managed to misquote her elsewhere:

CP: "The base model is an LS. It comes with 18-inch heritage-style steel wheels, and relatively few options. It has the direct-injection V-6, standard roof rail airbags, side impact airbags, OnStar, XM radio, standard stabilitrack with traction control, and ABS brakes. Then we have the LT model, which is a six-cylinder with two levels - an entry-level LT and a loaded LT. With the loaded LT, you get 18-inch, five-spoke aluminum wheels, a power driver's seat and fog lamps. Then we've got a base level and loaded SS. The base V-8 entry is for buyers who want ultimate performance, but not necessarily things like leather seats (it's more bare bones). The loaded SS comes with leather, a Boston Acoustics audio system, electro-chromatic mirrors, steering wheel controls, Bluetooth capability, remote-start on the automatic transmission, and a USB port and wireless interface. If you have your iPod or a device plugged into the center console, you can use steering-wheel controls to scroll through song selections. The loaded V-6 and V-8 Camaro also have auxiliary gauges - the four gauges just forward of the shifter.

CP: "The RS package is available on all models except the LS. Like I said, it has HID lighting, a darker tailamp treatment, and on a V-6 RS you get the spoiler found on the SS. The wheels are expected to have a unique paint treatment - not black, but not a typical bright silver finish. And then the V-6 RS option also includes 20-inch wheels."

For the Camaro, I've got to have the leather seats and ambient lighting. I need a sound system that plays at least MP3 CDs, but preferably has a place to plug in a flash drive.

So a manual SS LS3 should be about $28k, add SS2 for $1500, add RS package $1000, add sunroof $1,000, add Boston stereo $800, ambiant lighting $800. About $33,000. What else? I want it loaded. Manual LS3.

I'd expect 2SS to be a bit more than that. I'd put a fully loaded SS (non-vert) at something above 35k. But I was wrong on the power numbers so I could be wrong on this too.

Must have options... none I'll get what I can afford. Don't get me wrong I like options, but I'm not gonna option myself out of the car. I want the SS , probably have to go auto, have arthritis in my clutch knee , silver stripes , but I need prices first and December is a long way away, or so it feels.

Am I the only one who wants an LT with Brembo brakes?! I really hope they are an option, can anyone confirm that? Other than that, I will probably get RS Appearance, and whatever gets me leather and ambient lighting.

I'm thinking Imperial Blue LS3 manual with the 2SS package, RS package, Hurst shifter, and black stripes if they're offered. Also, upgraded sound package, and leather seats, however they're offered. From what Motor Trend says, it sounds like the 4-pack of gauges is standard on the SS. I'd also like the ambient lighting, and possibly the sunroof, but the price is going to be the ultimate deciding factor.

Everyone here seems to think this thing is going to be very expensive, and I'm worried about that too. But honestly, I don't see a loaded SS going above $35k. Any higher than that, and you'd be coming in on Corvette and GT500 pricing. It'd be virtually counterproductive to have a Camaro that costs almost as much as a 'vette, and it certainly shouldn't be as much as a GT500, because that car is both more powerful and more exclusive. GM and the auto industry may be having trouble as a whole, but I'm sure they know that price gouging your customers (especially those as faithful as your Camaro loyalists) isn't the way to bring the money back in. Not to mention this is GM, the giants of mass production and brand sharing. They're using an engine in both models that's already been in production for a bit, on a platform that's already shared with other vehicles. I'm sure they can manage to keep the price reasonable. (Do it, Chevy!! )

I'm looking for the SS/RS with manual. It depends on the leather if I want it or not. If the leather is real then maybe, I think I would like heated seats, I have that now and like it. If the leather is like the 4th gen, then pass. I don't need the ambient lighting, but it would be cool to have. Someone said something about a Hurst shifter from the dealer? I put one in my 4th gen and it made the car sooooo much better to drive. If I can get a short throw from the factory, it is a must.

I am counting on fbodfather to come through again regarding pricing. He's has not let us down yet and he is saying the pricing going around is a little high. I'm hoping the SS starts about $27-28 and loaded $31-32.

I will be VERY happy if an SS LS3 manual loaded is $35k. I was planning on spending $43k on a 3/4 loaded BMW 135i manual.

HELLO GM. Goodbye unreliable BMW
