I don't think a modded SS Camaro will ever be worth 5k unless it was wrecked or falling apart. These cars hold value when they are taken care of.

How much do you think a heavily modded, roughly driven, 20 year old Camaro with 150k-175k miles on it would be worth? |

Personally I'm planning on buying the mid engine vette. Seems like you get a lot for the price with that car, plus it will give me something new to mod.
Not sure when I'll get one though, I still enjoy my Camaro so I may wait a couple of years just to see what how the mid engines do overall.

Knowing what you meant by 2020 Z28, i went with that as my vote and here's why:
- You have all the performance and still covered by factory warranty (peace of mind) - The money you would've used to upgrade the 2011 can go toward paying this down - While the curved hoods and fascia look too much like Mustangs, you'll be the first owner and will know everything has been taken care of the right way (more peace of mind!)

$20-$30K in mods on a 2011 SS? Depending on what you're looking to do, that may not be a dream to drive on a daily basis. Not to mention that not only are you out of warranty, but your reliability goes down tremendously, and the cost to fix goes up tremendously. If we were talking about a weekend toy, it would be different. 2019 Corvettes are heavily discounted right now. So this is a good time to get one. The caveat is how is your weather? A Corvette, of course can be driven in the bad stuff, but it's difficult. My suggestion would be to hold back some of the down payment money and buy a little $4-$5k cash car as the 'winter beater'. A new ZL1 could run a little more than a base Corvette, at the moment. Performance wise it falls somewhere between the base Corvette and the Z06. |

Yep, I think I decided on going the Corvette route. I think the biggest decision decider for me is this will probably be the last car I'll ever own. When I retire in 10 years I'll be relocating to the Philippines where the best way to travel is to just use public transportation. The other consideration is the need for a reliable daily. I can accomplish both, having fun driving and having a reliable vehicle if I purchase the 2020 or 2021 vette.
Thanks for the input! |

Your car, your choice. What is your inner voice saying?
I modded my 2011. CAI, ported throttle body, rod mod intake, CNC ported heads, VVT-3 cam, headers, exhaust, New tires and wheels. I LOVE IT. Nothing like the potato, potato, potato every time I sop at a light or stop sign. Puts a smile on my face every time! My buddy pulls in to the local cruise night in his Z06 and turns a few heads. I pull in loping around and everybody turns to look.

That's the best way to travel there if you want to be run over by a large Jeepney or some other kind of commercial vehicle. There really is no "good" way to travel in the Philippines. But the worst way to travel is to be in the drivers seat having to fight everyone else on the road for dominance in what ultimately will result in you (as the foreigner) stuck with the bill if an accident occurs no matter who's fault it is. So, I stand by my statement. Public Transportation, while slow and potentially dangerous, is still the best way to go in the Philippines. It's going to take you an hour to travel 15 miles whether your driving or are a passenger. Id rather be a passenger.
