Engine sounds thrashy after Holley High ram and valley cover install
so for the past few weeks I've been installing this holley high ram and just got the engine started the other day and it sounds weird to me, its hard to start, alot of valve train noise sounds thrasy, idle sounds off, mini backfires sounds inside the manifold when i push the throttle, im sure i lt needs a tune but my tuner says it sounds really off like pushrod lengths are off. The heads were never removed the only parts changed was the Holley high ram, valley cover with no pcv port, and valve covers. These covers are connected to a catch can so i can vent out the engine or do i need to still pull pcv from somewhere..i also extended the wires to the TB harness and Coil packs so imma have to check those again

Check the coil pack wires. Maybe two are switched?
Also what radiator is that? Looks like the cap is off to one side

Nah I didn’t think anything was wrong but I have been looking for a radiator with the cap/fill neck that’s off to the side so there’s nothing in the way of a OTR intake

I just installed the Holley low pro, and there was alot more valve train noise. It was really noisy.
Is that a stock TB? You'll definitely need a tune for a TB and intake swap. If its a 102mm you'll need to change the ETC scalar to 7380. It probably needs more Start up airflow and changes to the Base Running Airflow. If you havent updated the tune, I would start there. One thing I noticed with the holley intake, you have to be very careful installing the injectors. The intake ports where the injectors sit are slightly tighter and shorter than the stock ones. You cant push in a circular motion or you'll scrape the injector nozzle inside the intake. I tore an oring trying to get one in, but I had spares. Just had to lube them well, and push straight in, but takes 10 times more force than a stock intake. Not sure if the Hi-Ram is the same, but if so, make sure you didnt tear an oring.

Aluminum manifolds will change the sound compared to plastic and tunnel ram style manifolds will change the sound compared to runner inlets facing down.

When we did the LOD install on mine we deleted the evap system for a nice clean look.
