P042B Code resolved - Service Restraint System
Had a random and sudden P042B code and a service restraint system pop up today after a hard 2nd gear pull through 4th. No other codes, no MIL but airbag light on. Scan showed that there was a lost communication with Body Control Module "A" which apparently could be one of like 100 modules on the car.
A bit of google searching, main harness checks and figured it out promptly. Turns out one of the connectors under the passenger seat (by the front of the left lower rail) had unclipped completely. Easiest fix ever. It was very obviously unplugged. Cheers to anyone else who experiences this, apparently happens on the c7 vettes too. Last edited by FoundNemo; 09-12-2021 at 03:59 PM. |

Anytime! Always happy to share easy fixes. First place I went was the engine bay to check the harness by the headers but that harness is fully wrapped in DEI shielding and far away from the CSP headers, so had serious doubts it was that. Easy fixes are the best.
