Them documenting this WILL NOT result in it coming up on the CARFAX or AUTOCHECK right? It may be a dumb question but I just want to make sure.
Sounds like a good plan to me. No, that would not cause any record on carfax of autocheck. Repairs do and documenting something isn't a "repair". I don't even believe all repairs show up on those sites either. Not 100% on that though.

It depends on the dealership. Some dealerships don't report actual repairs, so there's no way to really tell unless you have a great working relationship with the Service Manager and/or Body Shop Manager and can have a convo with them about it.

It -shouldn't- show up since they aren't actually do any repairs, though.

Absolutely not…this warrantee and and not insurance / RMV related. There’s zero reason for a dealer to report this… it’s an internal process.

Warranty repairs can and will get reported. It's all about whether the dealer actually sends it or not.

I know exactly what you mean. I had mine less than a month when a co worker asked me if it had been wrecked. I knew what he was seeing. I just told him it was the Chevrolet in it.It didn't bother me one bit. It's an awesome car for the money.

I’ve got a eyelash and a few different specs of dirt in my paint that I’ve found since I bought my car. But I wouldn’t have the dealer try to fix these or have them take it to a body shop and that’s on the outside of the car. So I wouldn’t worry about a spot in the trunk. Under the hood the factory doesn’t spray as thick of paint as on the body either. No one else will see it. Go drive the snot out of your car and enjoy it. Good luck with whatever you chose.

It's not a "Class A" surface. The standards are a little more relaxed for these other surfaces.

Unless its peeling, I'd just leave it personally.

Yeah, some colors are worse than others.

The panel gap on my 15 Mustang was terrible. I wish I'd done a YouTube video making it right.

.
Its just the way these cars are.
My 2SS 1LE has some character flaws. Its not going to the dealer ever again, unless it's related to a catastrophic failure

I bought my Camaro to enjoy and modified it as a stress release.

IMHO , he has a right to be concerned .He paid $495.00 more for that color and while it won't show or be oblivious to most he's probably thinking if they were so lax on quality control in the paint , what else did GM think was GOOD ENOUGH .

You'll never ever be satisfied with a mass produced car if this sort of thing is bothersome to you.

My 2 cents' worth advice to OP is to pick his dealership battles carefully. These blemishes, while untoward, are not generally visible and unless they get worse, the paint starts peeling or the blotches spread for some reason, I would just live with them.

I think it’s more disappointing than a “satisfaction” issue (he did spend a lot of $)

I just bought the same color car as the OP. The paint / fit finish / body lines are the by far the best of the (3) 6th gens I’ve owned (seriously, really good). I’d love to watch the overall build process to better understand what leads to some of the deficiencies.
