Car shakes.

Hello, so I have a 2010 Camaro SS LS3 with about 67k miles. Kinda hard to describe how it feels but when at a complete stop I put it into 1st and start slowly going and a lot of the time it feels like the car jerks rapidly until clutch is fully out. Sometimes even when I put it into 2nd it less subtle but sometimes still there. Kinda feels like when you launch a car and the wheels bounce rapidly off the pavement. It’s hard to describe.

Let me know if anyone knows what I’m talking about.

Thanks

Do you get any steering wheel shake when this happens?

Sounds like clutch “chatter”. Clutch may have worn unevenly. Can be caused by contamination of the clutch disc friction surfaces.

Sounds like clutch chatter is a possibility.

My Camaro is an auto, but based on years of experience with manual cars, and based on the age of your car, I would be thinking about a worn out or oil contaminated clutch.

If oil contaminated, you might also be seeing slippage. That can be checked by short shifting into 5th or 6th gear and then mashing on the loud pedal. If you se the RPMs go up without much acceleration, that would indicate an oiled up clutch.

The steering wheel does not shake while it’s happening.
