How to Remote Tune your Car

Clueless here... I am having my local speed shop tune my car after all my mods, but I am losing faith slowly after this basic (crap) tune that put on my car to break it in. Long story short.... I will let them do the final tune and dial in on the rollers/dyno after the break in on the motor, but what is necessary for me to get the car remotely tuned? I don't mind paying someone remotely to look at the final tune to make sure my car is dialed in at this point due to the amount of $$$ I have put out on these mods.
I currently have nothing.. no HP Tuners (not sure what that entails) or anything else. Will the remote tune get me dialed in OR is it just used to get me close?
Any help or knowledge is appreciated!

You're going to need HP Tuners to log and send to the tuner. They will then send you a revised tune file and you'll need to flash your computer. Contact Ted at Jannetty Racing, we finished mine up last month for better drivability.

Yeah... I am familiar with Ted and Brett @ Pray... they are Kings of Facebook and post a lot of what they are doing...lol

Pretty easy. Pull a tune with HPT. Email it out for mods. Get new tune back. Flash to car. Drive while logging with HPT. Send log. Repeat.

Youll need hptuners software, and the mpvi2+ or mpvi3, plus buy credits.

It depends on the tuner

For well known mods, they probably already have a formula that should get you real close. If you've got an unusual set of mods, or something extreme... prob can still get you close to optimal.

I would think dyno tuning would be the only way to squeeze out the last couple of % hp, but im not speaking from exp. Ive only ever done remote tune plus my own changes on top of that.

My advice... if you are getting a remote tune... at least familiarize yourself with how to scale and adjust the maf.

Thanks CJ... plan to let my local tuner take his best shot first, then to call Ted and discuss a remote tune with HP Tuners. I am not familiar with this process, so I can discuss adjustments to the maf sensor with Ted. Decided not to go with Pray as Brett can be a bit much for my intent here.

GPI also has a great remote tune. great customer service and hands on tune. also don't forget the trans tune if you have a auto. Ryan Stevens also dose E85 remote tune most don't.

Yes... TCM to be unlocked on final tune with speed shop. Don't want to be stuck at the ~600 torque that GM sets as a hard limit without the unlock...lol

GPI does not do remote tune for my case, just a FYI:

Vehicles that DO NOT qualify for remote tuning

Any forced induction
Supercharged (even factory-supercharged vehicles)
Turbocharged
Nitrous
Any LS / LT Engine Swaps
2019-2020 GM Trucks
4 & 6 Cylinder Vehicles
