I always found it funny when the influencers on YouTube have the credit to drop on a ZLE but not the knowledge that that's a horrible choice to record highway races with.

Why is it a horrible choice?

But only if your goal is the fastest top speed, which no one on this site ever does, so it's irrelevant.

Everyone here knows a stock ZL1 theoretically has a bit more top speed, and the 1LE is faster on a road course. I've come here for four years, and not one person has said their ZL1 outran a 1LE in top speed because of aero. You would have to be insane to go out on your local interstate and race two stock cars side by side up to top speed to see if a difference exists.

Similar thing happened with the Straight Pipes review of the ZLE. They loved the car for the most part but were surprised that the car wasn't as fast as the regular ZL1 off the line and had trouble keeping up with the camera car. Common sense would tell them that super stiff suspension isn't conducive to traction out of the hole, but apparently this not known to a YouTube channel dedicated to cars |

I'm one of those that are still amazed by Bill Wise's 7:16.04 Nürburgring run in a first model year (2018) ZL1 1LE, even watching the video almost makes me sweat... this is a very, very fast car in good hands.
One wonders, however, how much the car would've gained with active aero on the straightaways, especially the 1.5-mile back straight where the ZL1 1LE was only able to climb to 172 mph. The ZL1 reached 180 mph in the same spot, but the 1LE is a bit lighter, so there's that. A sub-7 minute run might have been possible with active aero.
