Driver's Ed doesn't lower insurance rates. "Behind The Wheel" classes are supposed to. That you usually have to pay for. It also allows you to get your permit a little earlier.

I took the Behind The Wheel class back when I was in HS and it did absolutely nothing for my insurance rates.

To get my license 2 years earlier would be more than worth the cost to me.

Though I do believe 16 is entirely too young to be driving.

NJ's laws have changed some since I got my license, but back when I got mine in 1991 you could get your permit a few months before your 17th birthday if you took Behind The Wheel, then take the driving test after you turn 17 (the written test is taken in 10th grade).

If you don't take behind the wheel you get your permit at 17, then 2 weeks later you took the driving test.

Back in 91 anyway.

2LT(or is it LS?) /RS

Victory Red, Black stripes

Auto

Leather if its not included in the 2LT package.

Hoping the price is 25-26ish.

Age has nothing to do with it. I was driving my dads 350Z and his modded Nissan 300ZX at 16. That thing pushes over 400HP. It's all about not being stupid and driving like a maniac.
Anyways I'm getting: SS

Black with red stripes

Leather seats

And i wouldn't have it any other way but Manual.

Don't care about price I'll let my dad worry about that.

But I'm definately adding aftermarket parts later

Of course age has something to do with it. Not everyone has had the experience with hi-po cars like you and I have.

I can't believe that some of you are talking about making straight A's as actual work towards a Camaro. I mean I know honors and AP classes is a little harder and all that but come on. If you are actually taking these classes that must mean you have the mental capacity to pass them. Not to belittle any accomplishments, but getting A's just means doing all your work and turning in assignments on time.

I guess I came off like a bit of a prick just now. Sorry if I offended anyone. I'm just sore that I have to be saving for the next two years and work a 40+ hour job as a service technician to get my dream car.

I for one dont take any offense and remember I have to make 10 grand. For a sixteen year old to make ten grand in So Cal.(dont mean to sound like a ass) is VERY hard. Ill basically only have 3 months to make 10k. I'll have 7 classes plus Practice. so Im pretty much Fked.

Three months is only if you feel you MUST have one of the first Camaro's off the line. You could be patient like me, I'm waiting until I'm out of college in two years.
