Article: In Defense of the Camaro

http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2009...nse-of-camaro/

Decent read, then laugh at the comments from the hybrid owners below stating crap about hydrocarbons, etc. How do they think disposing of those batteries in their cars is going to effect the environment??? Anywho, enjoy!

I've said it before, the only opinion that really matters is your own... Or your wife's...

Or the fact that the assembly and shipping of their cars caused a metric ****ton of pollution...

Can't take the comments.
I just don't understand it when people say it's ugly.
A prius is ugly, a camaro is not.

Looks are always subjective, from girls/guys to cars to shower curtains...

My shower curtain is better looking than a Prius.

However, that doesn't mean I wouldn't drive a Prius. It's a pretty decent car, for what it is supposed to be. Some people don't get that and bash the Prius for being "ugly". I don't think it needs to be good looking to serve it's purpose. The Camaro is a muscle car. The people who bash the Camaro for being an air polluting, loud, obnoxious car just don't get it.

My business partner owns a Prius, which he drives every day because he saves gas on his commuting and it's *probably* good for the environment to be a little better with your fossil fuel consumption. However, he will step out of that Prius and into a fire-breathing dragon of a car and stomp on the gas pedal like he was mad at it, leaving a trail of dust and rubber behind him. I think he understands both of them.

Probably is a good word, as many different studies have shown the Prius is actually worse for the enviroment then say a Hummer H2. The batteries, and getting them back and forth across the ocean, kill the little Toyota.

I'll keep my Camaro, Malibu and Road Glide thank you very much, lol

All the haters are just jealous losers that probably could not handle driving a real muscle car anyway!

I watched that tide of opinion change as most of us here did, when the Camaro was hard to get and people had to wait. I don't get people. I have rented and riven Mustangs many times, including the Hertz SHelby. They are fun, but they are built much cheaper feeling than the Camaro.........by far!

F.O.R.D - Fix Or Repair Daily I will take a GM anyday!

It makes me laugh that so many people buy into this BS about hydrocarbons and global warming! When can I get a bit of that warming, it has been in the single digits here in NY.................I hope some comes this way soon!

I would not be caught dead in a Hybrid, what a waste of $$$$ and all that toxic waste once you dispose of the batteries!

one of the problems I have with a Prius is the drivers.. they will fail 90 percent of the time to even attempt to accelerate to keep up with traffic.. it burns me up every time I am behind one wanting to get up to speed, and then when I blow by them in my HHR they look at me like I am a criminal...

Oh yes, that is so annoying! Of course that is how you get high miles out of a hybrid, which really makes me wonder, why bother. You have to change your whole driving style and everything, you could pick up mpgs in any car if you drove like that LOL
