2002 SS BOLT ON's HOW MUCH HP?
Sup guys! its been a while since ive been on here but got a couple questions.
First I have a 2002 SS pretty much stock with low miles. I have SLP Lid, Hooker 1 7/8 longtubes, ORY, SLP LM2 exhaust. about how much HP do u think im puttin down? With that being said I have about a month left in the service and will be moving back home which is when I plan to start a few mods. I would like to put down 450-500hp when im done!! so what are your guys thoughts on mods spending around $1500-2k.

Get a gear, heads, and cam package and you will be happy.

Cam will buy you quite a bit- the LS1 is receptive to mods and hops up pretty quick... I would LOVE to slap a LOUD ASS supercharger on mine if I wasn't saving for a 5th gen
 Just make sure and do brakes and suspension accordingly, if you want to keep her on the road

Im lookin at heads and cam. Exuse my ignorance, but for best results with out loosin too much gas milege am I lookin at. Also with that said. Does buying Heads, Cam, mean i need to get springs, valves? injectors?

Heads should come ready to bolt on with springs and valves already, you may want to get some bigger injectors but may not be required. Depends on what kind of cam you get as far as your mileage is concerned. I can recommend you some good shops if you need em.

wouldnt hurt man appriciate it. I dont know much about heads/cam numbers. I dont know what would be the best all around head/cam setup for what im lookin for. and I dont really know about LSA spec nums when it comes to cams either. Like I said Im lookin for around 450-500hp with out loosin too much gas mileage.

Well i can tell you some good shops but im not sure if any I know of are around you. Unless you gonna do the install yourself. Missouri?

ambers 2000 has 390 at crank.stock heads and cam.but has 1.8 rockers ported throttle body long tube headers 3800 stall with a 4l60e,342 gear good dyno tuneup and runs 1240s all day.....call sc2150 rx products....dont go bigger than 595 lift on cam ...just took one apart and valves were hitting pistons....

You will fall short of your power goals if you go with too low of a gear.
I would stick with 3.42's or 3.73's at the most. |

Your car should be making atleast 350 now if the tune is good, Ive tuned a few with just bolt ons that made mid 360's. Funny they were always 02 cars. TFS 215cc heads and a vengence vidicator cam will easy get you 450+ and ive done that package and still got mid 20's for mpg. good luck man..

my car has 204000 miles on it and runs 1240s....catchcan saved my motor.
