Bolts

Rad bolts come with all the units now as standard eqip. The unit was setup from day one to use these.[/QUOTE]

I have a question about the new radiator bolts. It seems the new bolts I recieved with my unit are abot 2 inches too long. Did I install the unit wrong??? Does anyone have a pic of the radiator brackets with the new bolts?

Thanks!!

You have to reverse the radiator bracket (spin it 180 degrees). Then you have to trim/cut the tab sticking up on the radiator. That's the only way it will fit (unless I did something wrong). There's nothing in the directions about having to do that, but I read it in this thread.
Right now I just installed one on the bolts on the passenger side. That seems to have secured the radiator pretty good. I'll probably install the driver side also, but I really don't like having to cut/shave off the tab on the radiator.

so there's a new thread out with dyno numbers with a vararam and it only made 380ish rwhp so i would ask for my money back and buy a K&N or air-raid this CAI needs to be booted off of it's "high horse" this product is just pain garbage and has tons of bad reviews. they wont do a baseline and then some with a VR because they all are counting the cash you keep giving them.

Last time I checked, MY money is MY money!

So, if its OUR money we keep giving them, why do you give a crap? Let us waste OUR money on what WE want and you can save yours and spend it on what ever you want.

Now, if you would like to use YOUR money to buy ME a CAI, feel free to buy ME what ever type you want.

UNTIL THEN, dont worry about what I am spending MY money on!

You come across like a 10 year-old who was the only kid on Christmas morning who didn't get what he wanted. Why do you care? move on with your life. Go right ahead and buy something else, troll.

I don't see tons of bad reviews...everyone seems happy with the performance gains. Sooooo many haters, I guess they have nothing better to bitch about.

This is not an accurate statement. In the thread "Vector Vararam 'Tune Only' Testing Tomorrow" they said their final numbers were "384 HP & 380 TQ" but they had "seen low mileage LS3's dyno stock around 355 HP". This not saying they gained 29HP... just trying to keep everything honest

I hate to say it, but I sure am glad I sold my unit and went instead with an ADM race. The Vararam definitely gives awesome gains, but it just feels so pieced together. It's pretty sad when a guy has to come on the forum just to figure out what bolt goes where and what tab to cut here and there. Hopefully things will get smoothed out in the future, but until then I'll stick with more "applicable" engineering and less "theoretical."
Good luck fellas.

I'm just saying that 29HP (with tune and CAI) is the only real # you can pull from the results... only if you are willing to go out on a limb and try and pull a #.

Miles on that run are pretty low. TBH, my car was a PIG until it hit 5,000 miles.

Has anyone looked inside their Vararam after driving in heavy rain? I'm a little concerned about water being blown/forced up into the Vararam.

When I opened my Vararam up and I had all kinds of stuff inside. I'm going to make sure to open mine up and clean it out fairly regularly. You get all kinds of stuff in there. Anything light enough to get caught in the wind (bugs, squiggly's off the oak trees, etc) get pushed by the air flow up into the airfilter box.
That's why I started thinking about water droplets being pushed upwards under force into the Vararam while driving in heavy rain.

I dont believe you will get any more stuff in the vararam filter then you would get in any other filter! JMTC

Not true. The Vararam pulls in completely unobstructed air moving rapidly through the front of the car. It has nothing slowing it down because the mouth of the intake is in front of the radiator.

My Vararam intake filter had more stuff (air born things) in 3 days than 6 months with my LMR intake. There really is no comparison.

The Vararam really does get a strong flow of air right into the mouth of the intake.
