The first time I heard about how much the SRT Challenger costs, I started to understand why they were such low volume or "rare" cars, as some people like to put it. The first time I saw how they fared against the other top 2 muscle cars from Chevy and Ford, it confirmed my suspicions.

they make less than 30k a year....that is low volume.....they do not need to market this as a mass volume car. hence why the challenger isnt getting an all new design or major revamp in the coming years. the big volume sellers such as the charger, 300, jeep are the ones getting major changes outside and inside.

And I've been in fords for 4 years, 0 problems.
Maybe if your stock SRT-8 could keep up with a stock 6 year old Cobra, your arguments would have merit!

At least our cars ran on all 8 cylinders when they came out. Can't say that for the 6-speed Challengers. Does the "7th cylinder misfire" issue ring a bell? And Dodge had to go to DiabloSport to get a fix for it.

Ford finishes either 1 or 2 on reliability the last few years. Does Chrysler even beat Hyundai in reliability?

Are you denying they had that problem? Or are you saying they are actually more reliable than Hyundais?

dude this is just gonna turn into an argument where the 99 Cobra debacle comes up.

The Hemi is a real nice reliable engine, so nice in fact that its been in the Wards Top 10 Best Engines 6 times from 2003-2009

Fords Modular has done better (8 times from 2000-2009) but that aint the point (or the fact that chevys only been in there 1 time since 2000, with their 6.0). The point is that there are a few hiccups hear and there, just like some of the L99's putting down sub par power. Car companies screw up from time to time.

I guess, but this IS the General Automotive + Other Cars Discussion, which doesnt make sense why the mods really censor threads about Mustangs here.
